SPENCER LIEN - Founder and Managing Director
Spencer Lien has 28 years of experience in the medical technology industry and has developed highly-tuned skills in creating winning strategies. Rising rapidly in every organization he has entered, he was a Vice President and part-owner in a medical sales distribution company within one year of graduating from the University of South Dakota. Spencer became a National Sales Manager at the age of 25 where he recruited, trained, and managed a US sales force of 45 medical technology salespeople.
Spencer founded QRS Diagnostic in 1995 and built the company's technology platform by acquiring two companies, executing numerous licensing transactions, and through internal product development. The company was a Deloitte Fast 50 Technology Rising Star in 2003 and 2004. Spencer is also the founder of other distribution and medical technology companies including Vitacon US, LLC (2012), CorVascular Diagnostics (2013), and LTOT Solutions (2013).
Spencer has served on numerous advisory boards including the University of Minnesota's VALUE Advisory Board in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He has been a guest speaker at the University of Minnesota's Department of Health Services and St. Thomas University Graduate School of Business. He has been a panel member at the Minnesota Venture Capital Conference and has recently served as mHealth strategist for a Fortune 100 company.
JIM POKORNEY Chief Technology Strategist
Jim Pokorney has more than 25 years experience in medical device design and manufacturing, including seven years at Abbott Laboratories as a senior product engineer and seven years at St. Jude Medical as a research manager. Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas, a mechanical engineering degree from Washington University, and a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Utah.
Jim is the founder of Cardious, the developer of the AvA™ Aortic Valve Bypass Graft System is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional aortic valve replacement therapy and is the author of several issued US Patents in implantable cardiac systems. He has consulted on engineering, product design, and manufacturing projects throughout the US, Europe and Asia.
Robert McCoy, BS, RRT, FAARC
Bob has spent over 30 years in the medical industry as a clinician, entrepreneur, and consultant. He is known as a tireless patient advocate and well-known respiratory care expert and author. He is the Managing Director of Valley Inspired Products Inc. (VIP), a research and testing company located in Apple Valley Minnesota. He also manages ValleyAire Home Respiratory Services Inc. a HME provider of respiratory products and services. Both companies conduct research on products and services with VIP doing bench studies and ValleyAire conducting field studies.
Bob is active in his professional organizations and is currently the American Academy of Respiratory Care (AARC) Home Care Section Chairman and serves on the AARC Board of Directors. Bob has been appointed by the AARC to represent the organization to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and is the alternate representative to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization's (JCAHCO) Professional and Technical Advisory Committee.
Bruce Rollie
Bruce Rollie has more than 25 years of versatile experience in independent business development, medical products sales and marketing with a history of superior achievement. Bruce has been characterized as someone who inspires trust and confidence and has earned a reputation for integrity, follow-through, and the ability to build lasting relationships.
Bruce has founded and served in senior management of several national distribution companies specializing in cardiac monitoring devices, pacemakers, defibrillators. Bruce is considered a leading expert on marketing cardiovascular solutions, both invasive and non-invasive. His consulting practice is focused on early stage commercialization and building global distribution networks for our clients.
